Like all Aimpoint red dot sights, the CompM3 features outstanding optics. The sight has an anti-reflex optical coating that offers outstanding light transmission. It is available in 2 dot sizes, 4 MOA and 2 MOA. The CompM3 red dot sight is compatible with any first, second, and third generation Night Vision Device (NVD), making it the perfect choice for any mission regardless of time. The dot brightness can be controlled by a switch, and the riflescope has 10 different brightness settings, 4 for night and 6 for the day, including one extra bright setting.

The CompM3 red dot scope features superior toughness and durability, making it the ideal choices for critical missions in rough terrain. This Aimpoint rifle scope can withstand being submerged to a depth of 135 feet (45 m). The CompM3 riflescope can also withstand the most extreme heat and cold, with a temperature range of -50 degrees F to 160 degrees F (-45 degrees C to 71 degrees C). The scope uses a 3 Volt Lithium battery (type 2L76 or DL1/3N), and thanks to Aimpoint's ACET technology, has phenomenal battery life, typically getting 50,000 hours of use out of a single battery. This Aimpoint sight is made out of extremely strong extruded aluminum, and is protected by a rubber cover, which comes in standard black or Dark Earth Brown, the latter being a perfect choice for use in desert and jungle environments.

The CompM3 is lightweight, at 7.8 ounces (220 grams) and is 5.1 inches long, 2.2 inches tall, and 2.2 inches wide (130 mm x 55 mm x 55 mm). It can be mounted using a 30mm ring or with QR mounting system.
